🌄 Our Kashi Yatra – Day 3 & Day 4🌿

We began Day 3 bright and early, enjoying a wholesome breakfast at our Varanasi hotel 🍽️. Our next destination was the sacred town of Bodhgaya, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists around the world 🕉️.

🚌 It was a long road journey. We stopped for lunch on the way 🍛 – lovingly prepared and packed by our chefs 👨‍🍳.

Upon arriving in Bodhgaya, we checked into our hotel 🏨 and, after a short rest, headed out to explore the spiritual and historical treasures nearby:

📍 Places Visited in and Around Bodhgaya:

  • Mahabodhi Temple 🌳: The iconic temple where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. A deeply serene and powerful place to meditate and reflect 🙏.
  • Bodhi Tree 🌿: Right next to the temple, this ancient fig tree is believed to be a direct descendant of the original Bodhi Tree. Many of us sat here silently, feeling the spiritual energy.
  • Great Buddha Statue 🗿: A towering 80-foot statue of Lord Buddha in meditation. Truly awe-inspiring.
  • Thai Monastery 🛕: Known for its elegant architecture and golden roof. A peaceful spot surrounded by landscaped gardens.
  • Japanese Temple & 80-ft Buddha Park : Featuring calm prayer halls and statues reflecting Japanese-style Buddhist architecture.

As the evening set in, we returned to the hotel for dinner and had a peaceful overnight stay in Bodhgaya 🛌. The day left us feeling calm, connected, and spiritually uplifted 🌟.

Day 4 began with another early start 🌤️. we headed towards Gaya, just a short drive away from Bodhgaya.

Here, we participated in the Pind Daan and Shraddha rituals 🙏, honoring our ancestors. The priests guided us through the ceremonies along the banks of the Phalgu River,  a site mentioned in ancient texts and held sacred for performing these rituals 🕯️.

🧘‍♂️ The ritual was a deeply emotional and reflective experience – a reminder of our roots and responsibilities toward those who came before us.

After the ceremonies, we had a simple, sattvik lunch 🍲 prepared by our travel chefs and then continued our journey back to Varanasi 🚐.

As the sun dipped below the horizon 🌇, we arrived in Kashi once again and checked into our hotel 🏨 for an overnight stay.

Another meaningful day completed, filled with devotion, spiritual growth, and beautiful memories ❤️.
